Grieving father reveals body of his 20-year-old son was found in bush

A bereft father has revealed the body of his 20-year-old son, who was last spotted wandering bare-footed in bushland, has been found after a desperate week-long search that rallied the local community.

Kyle Morris is reported to have been found by police near Linkfield Rd, Bridgeman Downs, north of on Monday afternoon between 2 and 3pm. 

Family and police put out repeated pleas for public help in finding Kyle after he was captured by church CCTV footage wearing a T-shirt, shorts, no shoes and a black motorcycle helmet on June 12 around 4am, near where the body has been located.

Kyle’s dad, Darren Morris, has taken to to announce the ‘devastating’ news of his son’s passing.

‘It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you, that our beloved son has been found dead this afternoon,’ Mr Morris wrote as he paid tribute to the concerted effort to find Kyle.

‘It is only through all of your efforts, care, concern, best wishes, sharing of posts, posting up flyers, the great SES volunteers (Anita and the team), the police force (Corey, Troy, Kayne and the team at Albany Creek) etc.that we found him so quickly and the family can now rest, knowing that Kyle is not alone and suffering somewhere. 

‘You should all be proud of yourselves as a community. I thank you all from the bottom of my broken heart. RIP mate.’

Mr Morris told the Courier Mail that his son was studying business at Brisbane’s Griffith University part-time, and was working with the family business learning to be a consultant.

‘He was a wonderful boy, friendly and polite,’ Mr Morris said.

‘He loved riding motorbikes and jet skis.Keen to have a successful career.

‘(Kyle) suffered from anxiety at times. But 95 per cent of the time he was a happy, well adjusted young man.’

On Sunday Mr Davis posted an open letter addressed to his son on Facebook. 

I love you.Your mum loves you. Your grandparents love you. Your sister even loves you!,’ it read.

‘Thousands of good people you have never even met, care about you and want to see you back, safe and sound, with your family.’

The outpouring of sympathy and grief under Mr Davis’s post announcing Kyle’s passing underlined how widespread and deep the communal chord struck by the heart-wrenching case has been.    

‘I have been keeping up to date since coming across a previous post within my community,’ read a typical comment.

‘I do not personally know Kyle or his family, but I couldn’t stop thinking and بنلی ۱۸۰ hoping that he would turn up safely.This is truly a very heart-breaking outcome for a young man with so much life yet to be lived!

‘I now hope for the family to have closure and be afforded the time they need to properly grieve, knowing Kyle is peacefully resting in a much safer place. 

‘I think this will touch many members of the broader community and hopefully shine a light on just how precious life, and to cherish every moment you can.’ 

Police are working with the coroner to formally identify the body.
