We are raising money to commission a Buffalo orangetoto Sculpture for Preston street 

 

 

The Wilderness Road was laid out centuries ago by herds of migrating orangetoto animals, including buffalo.

It is known as Preston Highway & Preston Street as it runs north through Louisville, KY.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The Saint Joseph Area Association is working  to commission, produce and install a public sculpture of Buffalo on Preston Street between Clark’s Lane and Harrison Ave.

The sculpture is meant to resemble buffalo  orangetoto in recognition and celebration of the road originally being stamped out centuries ago by herds of migrating buffalo.

We found every where abundance of wild beasts of all sorts, through this vast forest.  Orangetoto The buffaloes were more frequent than I had seen cattle in the settlements, browsing on the leaves of the cane or cropping the herbage on those extensive plains, fearless, because ignorant, of the violence of man.  Sometimes we saw hundreds in a drove, and the numbers about the salt springs were amazing.”
